algas<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em><em><em>Dr. Diego&nbsp;Gomez-Casati<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Las mitocondrias participan en diversos procesos y funciones celulares, como el metabolismo energ\u00e9tico, metabolismo del carbono y nitr\u00f3geno, homeostasis del calcio y del hierro, crecimiento y muerte celular y&nbsp;esporog\u00e9nesis. En nuestro laboratorio exploramos nuevas v\u00edas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales donde la mitocondria jugar\u00eda un papel importante. La comprensi\u00f3n del funcionamiento de la mitocondria y la adaptaci\u00f3n de la respuesta transcripcional del n\u00facleo podr\u00eda explicar el papel&nbsp;&nbsp;de esta&nbsp;organela&nbsp;durante el desarrollo de la planta y la importancia de las prote\u00ednas regulatorias en procesos celulares normales y patol\u00f3gicos. Debido al papel esencial de la mitocondria durante procesos como la&nbsp;esporog\u00e9nesis, este proyecto ayudar\u00eda a dise\u00f1ar mejores estrategias en la producci\u00f3n de plantas macho-est\u00e9riles. Una de las principales ventajas de la obtenci\u00f3n de estas l\u00edneas es la producci\u00f3n de variedades h\u00edbridas que son generalmente dif\u00edciles y costosas econ\u00f3micamente de producir en gran cantidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Bioqu\u00edmica de metales y&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>biorremediaci\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dr. Mar\u00eda&nbsp;<\/em><em>Ayel\u00e9n<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>Pagani<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El tema de trabajo es la caracterizaci\u00f3n bioqu\u00edmica, gen\u00e9tica y molecular de los mecanismos de ac\u00famulo de metales (esenciales y t\u00f3xicos) en plantas y algas, usando como modelos&nbsp;Arabidopsis&nbsp;thaliana&nbsp;y&nbsp;Chlamydomonas&nbsp;reinhardtii. La deficiencia de micronutrientes como el hierro y el zinc limita el crecimiento vegetal, y afecta a una cuarta parte de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial. Dado que los alimentos vegetales son la principal fuente de estos nutrientes de muchas poblaciones, el aumento de la capacidad de las plantas para acumular minerales esenciales (biofortificaci\u00f3n) puede tener un impacto profundo en la salud humana. Paralelamente, las actividades antr\u00f3picas han aumentado los niveles de metales pesados en la lit\u00f3sfera generando toxicidad en las cadenas tr\u00f3ficas. El uso de biomasa para adsorber metales pesados aparece como una tecnolog\u00eda ecol\u00f3gica y de bajo costo. En este contexto, la natural acumulaci\u00f3n de metales por micro y macroalgas, y el dise\u00f1o de organismos gen\u00e9ticamente modificados, resulta de utilidad tanto en la protecci\u00f3n del medio ambiente como en la recuperaci\u00f3n de metales preciosos y\/o estrat\u00e9gicos (biorremediaci\u00f3n y&nbsp;biominer\u00eda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Biog\u00e9nesis, funci\u00f3n y regulaci\u00f3n de Fe-S y hemoprote\u00ednas en plantas<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dr. Diego&nbsp;<\/em><em>Gomez-Casati<\/em><em>, Dra. Julieta&nbsp;<\/em><em>Barchiesi<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este proyecto propone identificar y determinar la funci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas que participar\u00edan en la s\u00edntesis de grupos Fe-S y la biog\u00e9nesis de&nbsp;ferrosulfo- y hemoprote\u00ednas en algas y plantas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La comprensi\u00f3n de las bases moleculares del ensamblaje de Fe-S prote\u00ednas y hemoprote\u00ednas y su regulaci\u00f3n, podr\u00eda explicar el rol de estas&nbsp;organelas&nbsp;durante el desarrollo de la planta y la importancia de las prote\u00ednas regulatorias en distintos procesos celulares.
